Pollinator Party at the Harbor

Join the Roots & Rivers Collaborative in enhancing the habitat at Menekaunee Harbor park!

For this volunteer event, we will be removing invasive species and installing native plant plugs around the edges of the park and the shoreline. Learn all about common invasive species and why they are a problem, what you can do to promote native plants in your own yard, and help celebrate pollinators during Pollinator Week!

Supplies: Gloves, planting/weeding tools, and light refreshments and water will be provided. Please dress for the weather!

Physical Activity and Access Details: This activity involves bending, kneeling, and gardening activities occurring at ground level. Terrain is relatively flat, mowed lawn in most areas, and paved access and walking paths are available but not consistently near proposed planting areas. Some standing weed pullers will be available for use.

Duration: 2 hours, but feel free to come and go as you please!
